Understanding your blood pressure numbers
June 28, 2026 ·Daystar Family Care
Blood pressure is written as two numbers — the top (systolic) is the pressure when your heart beats, and the bottom (diastolic) is the pressure when it rests. A reading under 120/80 is considered normal for most adults.
High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, which is why it is called the silent risk. Left unchecked over years, it strains the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels. The good news is that diet, activity, sleep, limiting salt and alcohol, and — when needed — medication all bring it down effectively.
The simplest step is to know your numbers. We are glad to check your blood pressure, show you how to monitor it at home, and build a plan that fits your life.
